The meaning behind the songs is very well sang. You can feel and hear the emotion when Jordin sings. To feel what an artist is portraying in their song, for the audience, is a very vital and important charactoristic to an artist. Jordin, best of luck with everything, keep doing what you are doing because we all love it!

Hey, Jordin!! I appreciate being the new guy on the block, and I enjoyed your debut album!! It's so good, that I can't really pick a favorite ! Well, if I had to pick a favorite, it'd be a toss-up between No Air & See My Side. I like each song on this album because each one has a different beat to dance to. I must commend you on doing a great job with Chris on the collaboration for No Air. It seems like you two had very good harmonies and chemistry making this song. I like No Air so much, I have the video on my iTunes. I have one question, Jordin: How did the producers of the video get the scenes together where it looks like you and Chris are facing each other? You are on the left side, him on the right. I wish you well with this debut and with any new albums that come along from you in the future. You have a very sparkly (no punn intended) personality.

I think the debut album is wonderful. I love Jordin's voice and I believe as Barry Gibb does, that Jordin will become on of our greatest female recording artists. Her talent is remarkable.
Every song has something to offer. I have purchased three of her CD's and have given them as gifts. I get upset when I think of how she was treated by Simon Cowell when she defeated Melinda. Yet her poise reflected her professionalism, although she is young. I wish her all the best. If she stays level headed, takes her time, chooses her music well, we will be hearing from her for years. I cannot wait for another single to come out of this great CD. Her voice is truly a gift.

Jordin is a very special person. She is just beautiful inside and out. And her album is just as fun and perfect as she is. Her voice came through as very powerful and so gentle all at the same time. Favorites are #'s 1, 2, of course 3, 4, 9, and 12. I recommend it everyone because it's just good music, simple as that. Very very happy for you, for all of your success. I bought Jordin's Self-titled album because it is a beautiful mix of songs that anyone can truly interact with. All of the vocals on this album are absolutely phenomenal and the arrangement is also very impressive. She is truly an American Idol that can inspire anyone with her winning voice. The best songs on the album would have to be "Tatoo" and "Permenant Monday". Both of these songs inspire the souls of human beings that are experiencing the same issues and concerns everyday. This album is not only an outstanding one to listen to, but is also something to help motivate one be better at everything they do and help make better decisions in the future. Overall 5 out of 5 stars. Way to go Jordin!!!

I buy a lot of music and have many favorites. But I can honestly say that Jordin's CD is my all time favorite. Normally there are at least one or two songs on a CD that I don't care for, but that is not the case with Jordin's CD, all the songs are amazing. I hope her next single released will be either "gotta get next to you" or "worth the wait". I am already looking forward to her next CD..and her next..and the next...and...

Ok, so where do i start...hmmmmm.......ok i'll start with your first single 'This Is My Now'...this song is seriously so inspirational, when you sang this song on the Amaerican Idol stage i was like 'OMG!!!!!!!!!!' my jaws dropped and i was like its a sure that you deserve that crown as Season Six American Idol winner!!!!!!! and you really did!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! your no. 1 song on your album 'Tattoo'>>I can't help myself singing along when it is played on the radio....this song is so meaningful and when i hear to it, it always remind me about my great grandma, my aunt and also my teacher who passed away recently.....while your no. 2 song on your album 'One Step at A Time'>>this song is seriously very good and this song gives me the inspiration to follow with my dreams(i really love singing) and take one step at a time and don't rush, always keep moving on till you make your dream a reality...cant wait for it to be played on the radio stations in Malaysia!!!!!!.....song no.3 'No Air'>>when i played your cd on the radio before it became your third single i was like i'm very sure that this song will be a bomb and it really did even in Malaysia!!!!!! also while hearing to the song i can really feel the 'love' chemistry and really feel what is the song all about(though i have never fell in love before)......it means that when someone that you really love isnt there you feel an empty space in your heart and we need them back in our life in order to survive.....song no.4 'Freeze'>>love this song too!!!!!!!!!you really can hit the high notes very well especially the part where you sing 'that time is passing by ......its leaving you and I..............toooooooo...........Freeze......a moment' .....love this part........song no.5 'Shy Boy'>>Hahahahaha......love this song too.......you do likea shy boy huh???????? song no.6 'Now You tell me'>> its like a boy/ or a girl left you for some reason and later on coming back to you and say that they want to be with you again with giving reasons like they miss us but we can't really see that sincerity in them........song no.7 'Next to You'>>this song is so nice!!!!!!! this song really means that like you are missing someone that you love and you need them right next to you just to get their comfort and love.........a very meaningful song!!!!!!!! song no. 8 'Just for the Record'>> this is like sooooo gooood!!!!!!!!!i really like it because the melody is very country-ish kind of thing and it is really nice for one to listen to......it means that you need that someone and your really sincere to them in many ways and you really want them to know that.......In short i love all your songs!!!!!!!!!!!!LOVE YOU JORDIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to first begin with saying that it was a complete pleasure to listen to all 13 tracks in a row. The first track, Tattoo, offers to listeners including myself a refreshing look on love and loss. At least that is the way that I interpreted it. No matter where someone goes, even if they are on the other side of the planet they will always be with you. The next track, One Step At A Time, is my favorite one from the entire album. I relate to that song the most because I am at the age where I am trying to discover myself and I have to realize that all my dreams can be accomplished if I just take it one step at a time. Jordin did an amazing job at relaying that message. Young women need to know that their dreams are attainable, so thanks Jordin! Then there is Freeze and Shy Boy. I love the fun and flirty moods of both songs. I mean Freeze was done incredibly and it makes complete sense. Enjoy life and embrace it. Make memories that you can keep in your heart forever. Shy Boy sounds like such a summer hit. That would be a great flirty summer single! Think about it Jordin! Now You Tell Me and See My Side are great tracks for people who may be in a situation where they break up with the one they love and never know why the relationship ended until after the fact and the person tells where they felt everything went wrong. Every great album has that break up song and they were brillant. Next To You, ANOTHER fabulous track (what can I say, I love them all), is a great song to listen to when you like someone and you are not sure if they like you too but you take the chance to tell them your feelings. Every girl wishes they had the guts to do that. Another song from the album that I would like to point out is No Air with Chris Brown. The first time I heard it on the radio I was like wow! That beat is crazy, in a good way of course, and then when I heard the lyrics I knew it would be my anthem-at least for a few weeks until I became addicted to a different song on the album. Just For The Record is a song to let that special someone know that you are there for them no matter what and that they mean the world to you. I think young love birds would love this song. When I listened to Permanent Monday it made me think of the people in my life who mean the most to me and when they are gone I have feeling that the days can go on forever, and you feel lost without them. Once again the song was very relatable, you connect very well with your fans. So up until now I have basically been saying how much I love the tracks on Jordin's album. Throughout the whole album she has stayed true to her fans and young and fresh, something that a young woman like myself can really appreciate! You go Jordin, I can NOT wait to hear more music from you! Your music raises spirits and is a true confidence booster, I look at myself in the mirror a little differently after listening to God Loves Ugly! I feel like I can take the world by storm after listening to This Is My Now. I can remember watching you sing that on American Idol and I balled, I felt your happiness! Your music, the way you portray it, is so sincere. Congratulations on all your success thus far and I wish you only the best best best in your future!

I bought Jordin's CD, "Jordin Sparks," because I was deeply inspired by the power and beauty of her singing of Our National Anthem at this year's Super Bowl. I regret that I had not heard her on "American Idol," a show I stopped watching because I cannot tolerate Simon Cowell's insults to the artists. I am thrilled by the music on the album and am very happy that I purchased the Wal-Mart edition which includes "Worth the Wait." By the way, I am a semi-retired but still active pastor, and I wonder what permissions I need in order to play "Worth the Wait" for the congregation over the church's public address system to illustrate a sermon.

Elsewhere on Jordin's fan site I wrote that Jordin is one of the supremely talented young musicians who will accomplish much more than the politicians, actors, athletes and official religious leaders toward achieving the racial and ethnic reconciliation which our world sorely needs. And I recommended that Jordin meet and collaborate musically with another such supremely talented singer, Chloe Agnew, the youngest member of "Celtic Woman," who was born, like Jordin, in 1989. What an impact for good they could achieve together.

The first few times I listened to Jordin's CD, I knew that Jordin reminded me of some great singer. The memory haunted me, but I couldn't place who it was. Eventually I realized that in the variety of her songs and in the wonderful lilt of her voice, she reminds me of my all-time favorite pop singer Karen Carpenter, who died tragically in 1983 at age 32. I still thrill every time I hear "We've Only Just Begun" or "Close to You" or "Yesterday Once More," and I suspect that Jordin's voice will still affect me similarly in the future. Like Karen, Jordin accomplishes what few singers can do, which I call "riding gracefully on top of the notes."

My only negative criticism of Jordin's CD concerns the presence of a very intrusive buzzing instrument in the accompaniment to track 11, an otherwise gorgeous song called "See My Side." At first I thought it was a defect on the CD. It detracts from the beauty of Jordin's singing and the other instruments. In all other respects, the instrumental and vocal backing are perfect and the performers are very talented. I give the album the highest rating.
